SO.....
DAY 1:
Day 1 was kicked off by one hell of a concert. All I can say is that you know it is going to be one hell of a year when you ring in the New Year with Coldplay, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow. It was a concert filled with all of the people I love and admire the most. I almost died when I saw Gwyneth Paltrow dancing hardcore to all of my favorite Jay-Z and Coldplay songs. WHY is she sooooo perfect? Although they are a little grainy, here are some photos from last night.
This was the first time I have been to the Barclays Center and I was very impressed by how nice the exterior and interior are designed. The crowd was huge out front before the doors opened, but once they opened everyone dispersed to one of the many bars throughout the arena, because it was New Years Eve.
The concert starts with the theme song to Back to the Future and then morphs into "Mylo Xyloto". In the moment that the Coldplay music starts, all of the wrist bands start going off and it looks like the entire audience is glowing.
I loved the wrist bands for this concert because they were customized for the night. I have already been to a Mylo Zyloto concert this year, so these bracelets were specifically customized for NYE. I got to wear one on each wrist all night and it just made the whole experience even better.
So once Coldplay went off stage at 11:15, after performing "Lost" with Jay-Z, a DJ from the VIP area in the back of the floor seats played a combination of songs to get all the audience members ready for the New Year while the crew changed the stage over.
The New Year was celebrated with Jay-Z, Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce, and even the Martin children dancing around the stage. After a quick singing of the classic New Year song of "Auld Lang Syne", Jay-Z went into singing "Run This Town" which prompted the audience to go crazy! It was an appropriate song to kick off the New Year in Brooklyn. Confetti and ballons were dropped, and we even got to witness a rare Chris Martin/Gwyneth Paltrow kiss, but only someone as obsessed with them as me would recognize that. Love them!
Although I am not a huge Jay-Z fan, I have to give him props for closing out an amazing show, and for ringing in the New Year in amazing, New York style. He is one of the few rappers that I actually tolerate (normally only when singing with others: Coldplay, Linkin Park, Eminem, and others to mention). He proved that there is only one Jay-Z in all of New York and did that is style.
The man definitely has style. After a slight hangover (not really, had to drive) and a great Dad for picking me up in Brooklyn and spending his New Year's alone because of it (love him), I woke up today to a great deal of unpacking and cleaning. Have to start the New Year in a good way, including a new diet and workout scheme. I will have to see how long those two last. My family is trying to do the same and we hope to achieve it by following some pointers from this new book.
I also had some fun and made kale chips this afternoon in my attempt to be "MORE HEALTHY". This recipe is thanks to goop.com, which is Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle website. The kale chips are great because they are super easy and healthy. She also made them on Ellen, who I love too. The recipe can be found in their newsletter about small bites, Goop- Small Bites, or more specifically, Goop- Kale Chips. They turned out great, and I added a little bit of pepper as stated in a recipe found in the above book.
Now, its time for The Avengers (2012 film), which features my favorite, Gwyneth Paltrow, teamed up with the hysterically funny Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow (HOT). I strongly recommend watching the other Marvel movies before watching "The Avengers" because it will help make the movie more clear when watching. The Iron Man movies are my personal favorite (not just because they feature Gwyneth) but the others have their moments as well.
LEO'S CORNER
My dog is kind of awesome. He is adorable and constantly does really cute things without even trying. I normally take multiple photos of them a day, so I will publish them here to share.
